had a lot of gd meals recently.

tried double bay at raffles city last wk w koh's fam as a be-early mother's day cum bf's bday meal. 

e food was gd. e portions were huge. 

but it's really quite a rip off. 

had dim sum @ paramount hotel for my own mother's day cele. 

fam not goin to b arnd for tat wkend too. 

i just lovelovelove dim sum.

anw quite glad to see both my ah mas.

now tat my ah ma dont stay w me i basically dont see much of both of them.

so gd to know they are both happy :)

n i so miss my ah ma's soups 

since she moved out i haven been goin home for dinner. much. 

went for another dim sum spread at imperial treasure at tampines one e very nxt day.

told u i was a fan of dim sum :)

their xiao long bao is super juicy man! 

though i was already full to e brim i couldnt bring myself to waste e last xiao long bao.

today went demsey for samy's curry!

their dahl + naan combi is out of tis world!

i also loved the way they serve

basically u get seated n they place tis banana leaf in front of u.

den u just rattle off some dishes u wan

n they bring it to u on ur banana leaf

just imagine cai fan but they bring e dishes to u.

they were generous on e serving n e price is reasonable. service superb. w def b back.

yikes!! ive got some idea wat to get him n where to bring him but haven made concrete plans yet.

work and play

that's me! working v hard. just look at e pile of files surrounding me. hee. tat was work during secondment (which has sadly ended). my temporary workstation was also known as e 'fishtank' coz the partition we had was made of glass. n from the outside it looks lk a fishtank. anw e last 3 mths was prob e slackest i've had at work (not considering when i just join the firm). n im totally missing it. loved e view! it was so easy to just drift and stone away. lookin at small pple n car, tinking abt where to go for lunch. best part - no one could see my comp screen and it was super secluded. oh well.

debs (my new nickname for e bf) had off last fri so i took leave n we went sentosa for a lil picnic! yay to sun/sea/champagne! but tis is one activity tat is halfway into my 'murtaugh' list.

pple who watch HIMYM would noe wat's a 'murtaugh' list. n pple who watch HIMYM would noe tat HIMYM stands for How I Met Your Mother. hee. anw it's an awesome awesome show! i find myself learning alot from the show. made me see lotsa stuff from diff perspective and i can truly relate to e show. anw, 'murtaugh' list refers to a list of tings which you're too old to do. its origins comes from Roger Murtaugh who acted in Lethal Weapon and his tagline was 'i'm too old for this'.

ok. aft so much digression, e reason for picnic at sentosa being listed in my 'Murtaugh' list is coz of e headache tat came aft. i haven had it tis bad in a looong time! n i swear we were under the shade 98% of the time. the sun really gets to me these days. 

but someting gd did happen. actually e day was fantastuc b4 the headache set in. anw, i got reminded of e honeymood period of our relationship. when we were packin up to leave, debs threw a whole bucket of ice on me! like @#&$*###$%%!!!!! haha. i obv retaliated. tis made me aware of how comfortable we've been w each other which as a result took away some of e craziness we had in our early days.

off hand some of the craziest tings we did:

- spray each other w those coloured stuff/snow during our first xmas (we were running and screaming arnd hall)

- our water war. it was really war ok! triggered by mr ryan koh who planted a PAIL of water in my rm, on top of my door such tat when i opened the door to enter my rm, i got drenched!

- drawing silly stuff on each other using marker pens. i had to rub my face so hard to wash e ink off aft

- throwing me into the pool (countless instances)

- the constant slamming me (tink WWF). but tat was when koh was still fit and i was still light. haha. 

- we pitched a 'tent' using comforters and strings in my room once to pretend we were camping. haha.

and of coz one of e most memorable tings he's done for me - making glow-in-e-dark butterflies and pasting them all over my rm for my 19th bday.

hee. i am a lucky gal :)

n the atmosphere was just great!

(i suspect 99% of e concert goers were under 30)

so YAY for the great time!

ah koh did someting really out of e blue yday. 

he came to surprise me at my hse at nite. 

he's back in jurong camp for reservist tis wk.

but he can book out at nite (thou he told me he'll stay in coz no transport so no pt travellinig back n forth)

n he just appeared at my doorstep unannounced yday.

in e end, e surprise was all his. hahas.

i happen to be out with perry.

i tried to tell him but he was in camp (read no communication) 

i called him b4 i went out (but he didnt pick up)

but lucky for him. we were just in e neighbourhood. planned to go cheesecake cafe at siglap but was closed.

so in e end went back my hse to pick him n e 3 of us went for drinks.

ok here's some background. 

perry's my ex-bf though i just tink of him as a gd fren now lar. it's been way too long anw. 

aiyah. e pt of my whole story is im glad e 2 of them get along so well.

n im really glad my bf isnt e jealous kind.

yea. i just cooked myself some instant noodles.

n tat's after i drove myself out to buy e instant noodles (didnt feel lk eating anyting else alone)

can u believe it? there's nothing edible at home!

except CNY goodies which doesnt count.

such a sad life. parents out having fun. 

bf having fun in camp (just called me saying he drank 6 cans of beer! lk hello! i noe it's cheap but u dun have to die there!)

i NEED to eat. if not i'll feel faint, get a headache or just feel unwell. u noe. lk cant function properly.

tat was 1 huge prob when ah koh n i had drastically diff lifestyles 

hence slping patterns during my first yr at work while he was in his final yr.

i always woke up early feelin hungry while he just snores away. 

den i have to wait lk 2-3hrs for him to wake up/wash up b4 we grab food

usually after much of my whinning/ kicking/ threatening

yea. vday came n went. funniest ting was when i joined e gang at settlers at smu on fri (vday eve).

i was commenting 'where got pple buy vday gift from robinsons one!' (refering to tis huge robinson bag beside chris) n in e end, it turned out to b my vday gift! hahas! shall reveal wat it is in my nxt post!

p.s. im v surprised n touched at e same time tat there r still pple reading tis! im really encouraged to blog more frequently again :)

i dun wan to stop blogging. really.
it's just tat most of e time im too lazy.
i tink tis l-word is ruining my life. seriously!
i tink being lazy is one of my worst character traits.
pple who noe me w noe e extend of my laziness.
sometimes even i amaze myself.
n it's not just laziness. it evolves.
becoz of my laziness i tend to b more passive
u noe.. not so on e ball. only do tings being thrown to me (if absolutely necessary)
over time tis got ingrained in me n i adopt a 'take it easy' kinda attitude to life.
the way i see tings is tat there's nothin tat i can live w/o
everyting happens for a reason. no need to fight it unnecessarily
tis 'chill' perspective to life worked pretty well for me in e past
but now im at a point in life where i feel tat my time is running out
in fact i've been tinkin tat for some time now
there's a million tings i wanna do before i die
life is slipping thru my fingers.
it's high time i chuck tis heck care attitute aside for sometime
n really do tings tat i will regret not doing
so i need some help frens. a nudge or a push. anyting!
need to slip myself out of tis comfort zone for a while to do tings i've nv dreamt of doing.
den i can come back to this kind of life
so pls help!

back in one piece!

went for a short getaway in philippines!

day 1 took budget airline - tiger airways which turned out to be e worse decision of e trip! we werent aware that it didnt land at e ninoy international airport but at some ulu clark airport which was lk 1 and a half hr away fr our hotel :( boohoo! (e other airport was only lk 15min away?) n e worse part, e cab fare cost abt S$100 one-way. but lady luck was on our side. tis really kind family let us bunk in their car coz they were also goin in the direction of makati which is lk their financial/shopping hub (where our hotel was) so we saved lk 100bucks! yayness! but by e time we checked in e hotel we were so exhausted. so we decided to have an early nite (not too early actually)

day 2 we explored e city on foot. wasnt intentional actually. wanted to grab some breakfast but couldnt decide on anyting so we walked n walked hahas. walked arnd greenbelt n gloriatta mall abit, not too gd to shop coz they're lk typical malls in spore (read: not cheap) after finally settling our brunch (by e time we ate it was near noon) we cabbed to tis shopping mall called greenhills. it's pretty much similar to chatuchuk in bangkok except tat it's sheltered in a mall and it's not so cluttered and hot. aft tat we carried on shopping at SM megamall (SM malls r lk tis chain of malls in philippines) another bad decision. we waited more than an hr to get a cab out of that place! i duno y e cabs just didnt wan to come, i mean given e traffic was bad n all. but there were so many pple waiting for cabs!! we literally screamed in joy when it was finally our turn to get in e cab.

we had a gd traditional filipino dinner. though i mainly only ate plain rice coz by e time we reach our dinner place my stomach was alr stagin a coup. but could tell tat yl enjoyed e food. hahas.
day 3 we took an early flight to boracay! paradise!! haha. but wasnt tat easily accessible. first we had to tk a domestic flight to caticlan. den a tricycle to e ferry terminal. den a ferry ride to boracay.
so after crossing air/land/sea, we finally arrive at boracay! our hotel tat we stayed in was nigi nigi (wondered wat it meant but didnt have a chance to ask e pple) i have no complains abt tis place man. except tat it could have been more sunny in e day n more starry at nite. loved e chill/relaxing vibe there! everyone always smiling/friendly and nice.
time flies when u're having rum. hahas. v true.

despite it being a tourisy place, tings there were really cheap. so cheap u dun have to tink when u spend. u noe wat i mean? u just order/buy anyting u wan. e sand there was white n fine n e water was so clear!
we had a great buffet dinner w live music and went to another bar to chill later in e nite. e red stuff in e bottom right corner is actually a mosquito net which e resort set up for us. how nice!
day 4 planned to go out on a saiilng boat but e wind was toooo strong. oh well. but we just couldnt leave e place w/o goin out at sea. so we settled for a motor boat which brought us snorkellin and to tis island for lunch. tot e bottom right pic is really funny! hahas. these pple who brought us out were really nice and u totally feel lk they are not out to cheat ur money just coz we're tourist. u noe wat i mean? life on e island is really laid back and chill! just e way i like it! loved boracay!
nite falls n we're back in manila. went to fort bonifacio for italian dinner. food and service was really gd (they served dessert w chilled fork)

day 5 went for last min shoppin at tis area which e hotel front desk gal recommended. was pretty scary in a sense tat there were throngs of pple. n there is no single tourist in sight. but stuff here was cheap n gd! prob half e price of greenhills (which was alr cheap!)

getting out of e place turned out to b a nitemare! we were supposed to rush back to the hotel to grab our baggage den to tat ulu pandan airport but we couldnt get a cab. n some uncle who could speak chi scared us saying it'll tk 2hrs to get back to our hotel (we only allocated 1hr taking into account bad traffic). we were really at our wits end! imagine being stuck in the middle of a road intersection! traffic there is really chaotic! in e end we manage to get on a tricycle (tis one e guy really cycles not lk e one we took at boracay where it was actually a motorbike) so tis nice guy cycled us out of e traffic jam n got us a cab! n e cabbie took us back to our hotel in abt 40min (his personal best i tink) hahas.

so our flight was at 850pm. n by e time we got on e cab to e airport, it was alr lk 620pm. so we boarded e cab n e driver said given e traffic it'll tk 3hrs to reach e airport! MY HEART ALMOST JUMPED OUT OK! after much pleading he said he'll try to make it in 2hrs. my foot lor! he took wrong turns/drove so slowly when there were no cars ahead saying he cant go beyond e sp limit as we see buses zoom past. big buses ok!!! those travel faster than him!!!!!!! nearly knocked him unconscious so tat i could tk over e wheels ok! worse still, when we were near e airport alr (lk finally!) he took a wrong turn again!!! n had to ask arnd for directions. mins were ticking by! i was alr making mental prep tat we'll miss our flight. i mean we need time to check in n all rt. n finally we reached and made it! thanks to v v nice n helpful airport staff! we were lk super unglam dashin into e airport lar. den passing e security checks we were supposed to produce our passports which were locked in our case. we just threw everyting on e floor to open our cases (we had lotsa shopping bags w us which we had no time to pack into our baggage) n e security guard being so nice let us pass n even inform e check in counter (which was alr closed) tat we're here to check in.

both of us were super thankful tat we made it. can u imagine otherwise? in tat ulu pandan airport w no more flights flyin out till e next nite. e last leg of e holiday really spiced up e whole trip man! so much tat on e plane our adrenaline levels were still so high!

anw really glad tat we came back in one piece. tinkin back, manila is indeed not v safe. esp for 2 small lil gals. hahas. e nice fam actually asked what were we tinking coming to manila like tat. hahas.

but all in all i tink tis was a really quite an experience. thanx to my wonderful companion cum treasurer who took care of our common fund.

caught a play recently - first light by toy factory
it's abt a group of old pple who are kinda stuck in tis space after their death
and they are supposed to recall/revisit/relive a significant part of their lifes before they can move on
ah koh's sis is in it. and in my bias opinion her character and lim kay siu's (they play husband and wife) are e most tear jerking and heart-tugging
e playwrite is thought-provoking, witty and humerous and brings across e topic of death in a light hearted manner. thumbs up :)

in e play they totally dont look lk tis. i wonder y e advert poster is shot lidat. hahas.
i couldnt recognise half the actors/actresses from tis poster

oh well, im turning 23 in 2 days. no excitment, actually dont really feel anyting special, guess it'll just be another day. though i did take leave (with no plans yet). i tink it's sad to have to work on bdays. dont u tink? anw thanks dear for e wonderful be-early bday dinner! lovelovelove it! BATAM

So aft 1 mth of planning. we finally made it to batam!

all in all it was a gd trip. but somehow i dun feel lk ive rested. oh well.

n e guys r finally back fr their WAT. bet they had lotsa fun. makes m e miss my own WAT so much! so much tat i actually dreamt of goin US. hee..

little rascal turns ONE!

and so.. my bf's fave baby turns 1. he's really v bias u noe!

he spends more time w him den me! sometimes he just ignores me n plays w him.

HMPH! but it's ok now. i have other tings to entertain me! e bf just bought PS3!

spent 2 nites in a row over at his place on wkday nites! 

which is lk a huge NONO! (so far ive only broken tis rule of mine once, to help him prep for his interview which turn out to b unnecessary coz he jio pple to play mj!)

anw. yah. super fun. n cool. n i just LOVE it!

(mostly it's just guitar heroes. totally rocks! if only they have more songs tat i noe of)

there're alot of demos n trials available too. 

n it's so easy to dl n install it on e PS3.

no need for e computer or messy cables.

but comparatively i tink Wii still more fun for me lar. 

coz it's more interactive n it gets pple really excited.

hahas. e girls went yl's hse e other day coz she just bought Wii!

n we had a really great time.

heard hj stayed over n they played some duno wat game till lk 3am?!?

crazy pple! hahas. n sl got so excited she actually hit ws in a gane.

most of e time im pretty glad my bf is a techy 

(when he doesnt drag me round simlim/IT fairs or surf his stupid forums)

if not i wont b using my htc now :)

yah i guess e perks of having a techy bf outweighs e cons. (most of e time)

for instance, instead of pressing lk 4 buttons, fiddling 4 different remote to switch on e aircon, tv, amplifier, scv, to b able to enjoy tv at his place, 

all i have to do now is press 1 button on 1 remote.

no more hassle of figuring which remote controls wat shit. hahas.

all thanks to e all-in-one remote! yay! makes life so much easier.

3) GNTM s3 - yes u guessed it! hahas. heidi is in it. n there's tis charm when they speak german! but e translator is really slow. n i cant watch shows wo subtitle!

4) lipstick jungle - e guy is so hot! n so r all e lead female! reminds me of dirty sexy money! n they were featured on proj runway

5) ANTM cycle 11 - aft a decade of antm. i have to admit they r getting boring n lame. lk really lame abt e whole future ting. haha. but it's just brainless entertainment.
