back in one piece!

went for a short getaway in philippines!

day 1 took budget airline - tiger airways which turned out to be e worse decision of e trip! we werent aware that it didnt land at e ninoy international airport but at some ulu clark airport which was lk 1 and a half hr away fr our hotel :( boohoo! (e other airport was only lk 15min away?) n e worse part, e cab fare cost abt S$100 one-way. but lady luck was on our side. tis really kind family let us bunk in their car coz they were also goin in the direction of makati which is lk their financial/shopping hub (where our hotel was) so we saved lk 100bucks! yayness! but by e time we checked in e hotel we were so exhausted. so we decided to have an early nite (not too early actually)

day 2 we explored e city on foot. wasnt intentional actually. wanted to grab some breakfast but couldnt decide on anyting so we walked n walked hahas. walked arnd greenbelt n gloriatta mall abit, not too gd to shop coz they're lk typical malls in spore (read: not cheap) after finally settling our brunch (by e time we ate it was near noon) we cabbed to tis shopping mall called greenhills. it's pretty much similar to chatuchuk in bangkok except tat it's sheltered in a mall and it's not so cluttered and hot. aft tat we carried on shopping at SM megamall (SM malls r lk tis chain of malls in philippines) another bad decision. we waited more than an hr to get a cab out of that place! i duno y e cabs just didnt wan to come, i mean given e traffic was bad n all. but there were so many pple waiting for cabs!! we literally screamed in joy when it was finally our turn to get in e cab.

we had a gd traditional filipino dinner. though i mainly only ate plain rice coz by e time we reach our dinner place my stomach was alr stagin a coup. but could tell tat yl enjoyed e food. hahas.
day 3 we took an early flight to boracay! paradise!! haha. but wasnt tat easily accessible. first we had to tk a domestic flight to caticlan. den a tricycle to e ferry terminal. den a ferry ride to boracay.
so after crossing air/land/sea, we finally arrive at boracay! our hotel tat we stayed in was nigi nigi (wondered wat it meant but didnt have a chance to ask e pple) i have no complains abt tis place man. except tat it could have been more sunny in e day n more starry at nite. loved e chill/relaxing vibe there! everyone always smiling/friendly and nice.
time flies when u're having rum. hahas. v true.

despite it being a tourisy place, tings there were really cheap. so cheap u dun have to tink when u spend. u noe wat i mean? u just order/buy anyting u wan. e sand there was white n fine n e water was so clear!
we had a great buffet dinner w live music and went to another bar to chill later in e nite. e red stuff in e bottom right corner is actually a mosquito net which e resort set up for us. how nice!
day 4 planned to go out on a saiilng boat but e wind was toooo strong. oh well. but we just couldnt leave e place w/o goin out at sea. so we settled for a motor boat which brought us snorkellin and to tis island for lunch. tot e bottom right pic is really funny! hahas. these pple who brought us out were really nice and u totally feel lk they are not out to cheat ur money just coz we're tourist. u noe wat i mean? life on e island is really laid back and chill! just e way i like it! loved boracay!
nite falls n we're back in manila. went to fort bonifacio for italian dinner. food and service was really gd (they served dessert w chilled fork)

day 5 went for last min shoppin at tis area which e hotel front desk gal recommended. was pretty scary in a sense tat there were throngs of pple. n there is no single tourist in sight. but stuff here was cheap n gd! prob half e price of greenhills (which was alr cheap!)

getting out of e place turned out to b a nitemare! we were supposed to rush back to the hotel to grab our baggage den to tat ulu pandan airport but we couldnt get a cab. n some uncle who could speak chi scared us saying it'll tk 2hrs to get back to our hotel (we only allocated 1hr taking into account bad traffic). we were really at our wits end! imagine being stuck in the middle of a road intersection! traffic there is really chaotic! in e end we manage to get on a tricycle (tis one e guy really cycles not lk e one we took at boracay where it was actually a motorbike) so tis nice guy cycled us out of e traffic jam n got us a cab! n e cabbie took us back to our hotel in abt 40min (his personal best i tink) hahas.

so our flight was at 850pm. n by e time we got on e cab to e airport, it was alr lk 620pm. so we boarded e cab n e driver said given e traffic it'll tk 3hrs to reach e airport! MY HEART ALMOST JUMPED OUT OK! after much pleading he said he'll try to make it in 2hrs. my foot lor! he took wrong turns/drove so slowly when there were no cars ahead saying he cant go beyond e sp limit as we see buses zoom past. big buses ok!!! those travel faster than him!!!!!!! nearly knocked him unconscious so tat i could tk over e wheels ok! worse still, when we were near e airport alr (lk finally!) he took a wrong turn again!!! n had to ask arnd for directions. mins were ticking by! i was alr making mental prep tat we'll miss our flight. i mean we need time to check in n all rt. n finally we reached and made it! thanks to v v nice n helpful airport staff! we were lk super unglam dashin into e airport lar. den passing e security checks we were supposed to produce our passports which were locked in our case. we just threw everyting on e floor to open our cases (we had lotsa shopping bags w us which we had no time to pack into our baggage) n e security guard being so nice let us pass n even inform e check in counter (which was alr closed) tat we're here to check in.

both of us were super thankful tat we made it. can u imagine otherwise? in tat ulu pandan airport w no more flights flyin out till e next nite. e last leg of e holiday really spiced up e whole trip man! so much tat on e plane our adrenaline levels were still so high!

anw really glad tat we came back in one piece. tinkin back, manila is indeed not v safe. esp for 2 small lil gals. hahas. e nice fam actually asked what were we tinking coming to manila like tat. hahas.

but all in all i tink tis was a really quite an experience. thanx to my wonderful companion cum treasurer who took care of our common fund.

caught a play recently - first light by toy factory
it's abt a group of old pple who are kinda stuck in tis space after their death
and they are supposed to recall/revisit/relive a significant part of their lifes before they can move on
ah koh's sis is in it. and in my bias opinion her character and lim kay siu's (they play husband and wife) are e most tear jerking and heart-tugging
e playwrite is thought-provoking, witty and humerous and brings across e topic of death in a light hearted manner. thumbs up :)

in e play they totally dont look lk tis. i wonder y e advert poster is shot lidat. hahas.
i couldnt recognise half the actors/actresses from tis poster

oh well, im turning 23 in 2 days. no excitment, actually dont really feel anyting special, guess it'll just be another day. though i did take leave (with no plans yet). i tink it's sad to have to work on bdays. dont u tink? anw thanks dear for e wonderful be-early bday dinner! lovelovelove it! BATAM

So aft 1 mth of planning. we finally made it to batam!

all in all it was a gd trip. but somehow i dun feel lk ive rested. oh well.

n e guys r finally back fr their WAT. bet they had lotsa fun. makes m e miss my own WAT so much! so much tat i actually dreamt of goin US. hee..

little rascal turns ONE!

and so.. my bf's fave baby turns 1. he's really v bias u noe!

he spends more time w him den me! sometimes he just ignores me n plays w him.

HMPH! but it's ok now. i have other tings to entertain me! e bf just bought PS3!

spent 2 nites in a row over at his place on wkday nites! 

which is lk a huge NONO! (so far ive only broken tis rule of mine once, to help him prep for his interview which turn out to b unnecessary coz he jio pple to play mj!)

anw. yah. super fun. n cool. n i just LOVE it!

(mostly it's just guitar heroes. totally rocks! if only they have more songs tat i noe of)

there're alot of demos n trials available too. 

n it's so easy to dl n install it on e PS3.

no need for e computer or messy cables.

but comparatively i tink Wii still more fun for me lar. 

coz it's more interactive n it gets pple really excited.

hahas. e girls went yl's hse e other day coz she just bought Wii!

n we had a really great time.

yah i guess e perks of having a techy bf outweighs e cons. (most of e time)

for instance, instead of pressing lk 4 buttons, fiddling 4 different remote to switch on e aircon, tv, amplifier, scv, to b able to enjoy tv at his place, 

all i have to do now is press 1 button on 1 remote.

no more hassle of figuring which remote controls wat shit. hahas.

all thanks to e all-in-one remote! yay! makes life so much easier.

3) GNTM s3 - yes u guessed it! hahas. heidi is in it. n there's tis charm when they speak german! but e translator is really slow. n i cant watch shows wo subtitle!

4) lipstick jungle - e guy is so hot! n so r all e lead female! reminds me of dirty sexy money! n they were featured on proj runway

5) ANTM cycle 11 - aft a decade of antm. i have to admit they r getting boring n lame. lk really lame abt e whole future ting. haha. but it's just brainless entertainment.

yups so i guess tat sums up my life recently.

yups. so im back fr my dive trip at pulau aur. virgin dive. it was actually pretty gd.

no complains from me. e water was crystal clear! cant find tat kind of stuff in spore man. even tioman wasnt tis gd.

some scenary from e 'resort' we were staying. haha. e accom was, i quote, 'simple'. 

actually yunting's bad dive experience kinda prepared me.

so i alr expecting e worse n was thus pleasantly surprised.

e amenties was really basic lar. e food there was really awesome though.

e locals who run e place cooked all our meals. n e bbq dinner was really out of e world :)

im glad i had vincent as my dive buddy. i tink in diving ur buddy is really impt.

in cases of emergency tat's e only person u can rely on.

n i tink e larger e grp e more fun it'll b. 

so if anyone wanna try out diving i strongly encourage. 

but do go w a big grp of frens.

whether i'll dive again. i really duno man. if more of my frens learn i'll def go.

i planned a surprise getaway for the both of us.

ive always wanted to go back to tis resort in port dickson my parents brought me when i was younger.

so i made arrangements n abducted my dearie there!

it was a 4-5 hr drive but all highway so pretty easy.

n im totally in love w e place man.

it's so chill!! lovelove it!!

can just sit in e balcony staring out into e open sea.

with e waves crashing just underneath my feet (e resort extends out into e sea)

totally amazing. n e toilet!! love it man! 

it's lk half open air n u can look at stars when u bathe at nite.

e room was totally comfy too. n all e staff there super warm n friendly.

it's really a great place to chill for lk a day or 2 (anyting more it gets boring)

all we did was stroll on e beach. swim. eat. tan. play abit of pool/darts. watch tv. chill at e pub (super gd band at nite). fish. 

simple n relaxing! love it!

now to backtrack even more (getting tired of tying)

went prawning w e WAT babes.

it's a v 'interesting' experience.

haha. we were screaming our lungs out most of e time when e prawn bite our bait.

it's lk we want to catch a prawn but at e same time we wish we wont get any.

coz we really didnt noe wat to do. unhook e prawn throw into e net. blahblah.

it took us abt  2-3 catches b4 we finally manage to do everyting rt.
n e place was at ulu pandan land lor. hahas.

n it rained when we were there (funnily it was during e rain when we caught e most prawns)

n so on our way out we were splashed by e moving cars. so super irritating!!!!

but was really glad to spend time w tis 2 babes :)

yes. im no expert in tennis.
but yday's men's singles final really got me all heated up!
there were so many heart stopping moments in e longest game ever.
started at lk 9plus spore time n it onli ended at lk 4plus am?
in btw e game was stopped 3 times due to bad weather.
lk sososo super anti climax.. or shd i say it totally built up e climax.
i was of coz rooting for top seeded federer.
but he was down 2 sets to nil (leading e third) when e break was called in due to e rain.
n aft he came back w a gd fight claiming e 3rd n 4th set.
but both were played till tie break.
tat was how teeth-clinching it was!
i bet those who bought tickets to watch totally got their money worth.
there were so many times i tot e end was nearing for federer but he always manages to fight back! he's such a fighter!
in e end nadal won. quite expected actually.
but he did win it e hard way.
i guess both r deserving winners. it could have been anyone's game.
nadal was lucky.

totally looked lk it was goin to pour but i guess wherever e goldies go, we brighten up e day!

carefree days

so finally aft lk 10times of jio-ing. i went for poker w perry n frens.
some whom i noe. some whom i dont.
which is why i felt super paisei winning their money!
hahas. yups e gambling queen is back in action man.
but frankly, it's bad to b addicted.
so kids... DO NOT GAMBLE.
hahas. who m i kidding. but dont worry.
im not a hardcore gambler lar.
i just see all these sessions as a get tog w frens.

n i m finally seeing some pros to being in e workforce
(no it's not e money coz im earning peanuts)
besides all e waking up on time (bugger) /routine lifestyle/
less mahjong (muchmuch less!)/ no suppers (at least tis is really a gd ting)/
tinkin of wat to wear everyday (tis kills lk e most braincells e entire day)/
sitting in front of e comp 8 hrs a day (bulging tummy/shoulderache)
im finally coming to terms tat im a working adult (yea.. it took me lk a yr)

n yay. e parents r overseas tis wkend.

we were there to cele e june babies' bday!
n as with all our nursing's bday cele.
someone has to always let e surprise out of e bag.
tis time round is blur px who actually told one of e bday gal, ws all abt e cake n told her to tk pics. anw. it's WI cos tues was 1-for-1. hahas.
n we sang lk 730- closing. though obv i didnt stay till close.
if not i'll b lk puffy eye panda at work e nxt day.
n tat was onli tues nite. so had a long wk to go.

two: Barfly w e goldies

i've always wanted to go there! e reason: FREE FLOW CHAMPAGNE!
yups. tats rt. i've always had a weakness for bubblys.
so there we were. so SATC. hahas
there were 4 of us (poor G5 couldnt join us). den e gd food. n drinks!
e 4-course dinner plus whole nite of free flow champagne at only abt 30bucks each.
worth it rt? lk totally! hahas.

n see wat alchohol does to pple. hahas. i tink i had nearly 10 glasses.
really lost count. they were sooooo generous w their refills.
n they always refill to e brim (no kidding!)

actually my interest in air supply onli started in uni.
ah koh had lotsa air supply songs in his comp n i grew in love w them.
we took his dad to watch too. as his bday gift.
i cant believe this duo's already nearing 60.
they can totally sing!
towards e end of e show we just rushed in front w almost half of e crowded
danced n cheered till e very end.

food normal. expected way more. oh well.
we had a 50% discount so i couldnt ask for more.
in fact if not for e discount we wouldnt have gone there in e first place.

lagging..

i've been laggin in my posts. been wanting to post since dear was in taiwan. n he's back already. hahas. sometimes i really feel my life slipping thru my fingers. growing up (and old) so quickly. sometimes i wish time will stop to let me tk a breather.

anw. dear obv had lotsa fun when he was away (from me). for me im def not e controlling type of gf. in fact i really rather my guy go out n have his fun. in fact e more he sees out there e more he'll appreciate wat he has. n he wont b curious abt wat's out there. it's lk e wanton mee n chicken rice continuation. if u dun let ur guy try out wanton mee. he'll nv realise chicken rice is e nicest. of coz there's always a risk of him prefering wanton mee instead. but i guess i wan my guy to eat chicken rice knowing tat it's e best n not half guessing whether wanton mee will b nicer.

n for e period tat dear was gone, for a few days my nick was "im single again!" n i had alot of guy frens who i haven met up with in ages msning me. hahas. i guess tat was a really effective nick. anw i was really packed e 2 wks plus dear was gone. which was a really gd ting. but dont get me wrong. it's not lk when dear was arnd i wont go out w them or tat i did anyting. hahas. just normal catch up dinners, drinks etc.

goin to do a performance w e goldies for some launch event. goin to put our rusty dance sneakers on again! quite fun to b pickin up steps. choosing songs. arranging pracs. discussing costumes again. onli prob now is we have no studio to prac. boo hoo! hopefully will still b able to use e hall studio.

ohh my dad's car got banged again. my last accident during e cny period is not even settled yet n now another 1. my bro was driving alone back home when he got banged in e back. was pretty serious luckily both drivers were safe. my bro got cut my e safety belt on his chest though. tat was how huge e impact was. e boot now cant b closed n theres a huge dent. e back bumper is also threatening to drop off anytime. wat luck. my bro said e lady driver was prob drunk driving. tsktsk. NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE. seriously. u nv noe wat will happen n u'll prob regret e rest of ur life. u not onli put ur life in danger, others as well.

tis is a pretty long post huh. but i still have tings to say. hahas. works been gd lately. been doing my secondment at personal tax. though it's disgusting to see how much tis rich pple earn (kinda immuned aft lk 1 mth of looking at that kind of figures). yea. but it's basically quite stressless here coz i dun hold any portfolio. i basically assist e consultants to churn out tax computation. yups though i haf to work longer hrs (coz it's there peak period) but im generally happier (coz there's always work to do!) no need to fret over timesheet (yay!)

hm. dear's goin ICT tml (army stuff) so goin to miss him for another wk. hope he start looking for a job soon! actually i dun wan to give him too much pressure lar. anyone with lobang can intro k!

Goldies' weekend getaway

yups we e goldies marched to sentosa last wkend
managed to dig out stuff tat i haven worn in a million yrs
e.g e pink headband (i mean if i wear it out on a normal day pple would tink im crazy)
those flowery clips, bands watever. n tis bag which i bought in an online spree which didnt turn out wat i imagined.

aft we checked into e lovely hotel tat we booked for e nite, siloso beach resort (it's really pretty, more of that later)
we headed out to e beach! e weather was perfect.
i got a decent tan. wasnt sunburnt.
didnt get a headache or feel dehydrated. so all was gd.
we basically didnt do much on e beach except lazing, got into e water for abit.
played a lil frisbee & captains ball w random grp of strangers (for lk 15min? coz we were really not up to it)
was a rather relaxing afternoon :) juz how i lk it

of coz we couldnt resist wat most pple do by e beach - JUMP shots!
happen to bump into a colleague of mine who had some idle time so yay!
got ourselves a camera man! hahas. ironically he was there for his own photoshoot.
yups we look pretty retarded in most of them. so next...

by e time we all got back to e rm. wash up n change into nice smelling clothes we were all famished! some clearly more than others. hahas.
we contemplated on delivery but we decided to go out n get some air instead of nua-ing in e rm whole day (but e rm was really nice n comfy!)
so glad we made tat choice. we went to sakae sushi. but tis is a special outlet. their menu is not e usual sakae menu n i was really impressed w e food.
it not onli looks gd. it actually tastes really good! plus there was a 20% discount for their opening.
super worth it! lk totally!
though we waited quite long for some dishes but we were entertained by each other n e occasional fireworks fr e 'songs of e seas'.
we got e outdoor seats so e view was really gd.

aft dinner, we strolled back to our rm for a nice 'surprise' bday cele for our beloved G3!!
she is XX years old. hahas. opps. we gave her a collection of our photos tog.

on to cafe del mar. haven really had fun e 2 times ive been there.
seriously. e choice of song??!???!!
e indoor seats were pretty uncomfortable n e music was blasting so we chose e outdoor ones.
which was even more disastrous.
it was kinda slightly damp (duno fr wat) n we juz didnt feel comfortable there.
so we juz brought our bottles of beers back to e rm where we had aircon n tv.
those 2 tings were enuff to keep us goldies happy n satisfied.
e plan was to stay up e whole nite to do silly stuff (which we did but im not goin to link it to my blog!!!!)
but we KO one aft another. hiaks.

nxt morn we had nice complimentary buffet breakfast.
poor G5 had to leave for her dance class. too bad for her.
we explored e resort a lil n took stupid pics. e rooftop terrace was really nice!!
wish we had booked e rooftop suites w own private outdoor jacuzzi.
hahas. but tat would have burnt a bigger hole in our pockets.

aft we checked out we went for fish spa!
wat a traumatizing experience.
i mean i can stand e ticklish sensation. but i really had a hard time putting my feet into e fish pond.
they r SCARY! i noe they're small. but tats y they're scary.
wat if i step on them n they diee!!!!
but anyhow. we went thru it. was not bad actually. hhaas.
e other goldies had a harder time at e foot reflexology part which i didnt lar.
coz i generally tink my threshold for pain is pretty high.
really had a great time. i get to let my hair down n b really crazy when im w them.
(coz they r all crazy!) good way to destress n unwind. haha

p.s.s: really hope can go back to e resort again. but tis time i wana go for e private jacuzzi! how cool is that!!
